Motorway closes after lorry and crane crash near Darwen

The vehicles crashed between junctions 4 and 5

A stretch of the M65 in Lancashire was closed after a crash between a lorry and a crane.

The vehicles collided on the motorway eastbound between junctions 4 and 5 near Darwen at about 1115 BST.

Lancashire police were called to the scene and the road was closed until about 1230 BST.

One lane on each carriageway remains closed as work to repair the central reservation barrier is carried out. No-one was seriously hurt in the crash.

Motorists were being advised to avoid the area.
