Man accused of raping 10-year-old schoolgirl in Fleetwood

The trial has begun at Preston Crown Court of a man who is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in Lancashire.

Kevin Holmes, from Crosby, Merseyside, admitted kidnapping, sexually assaulting and attacking the girl in September.

The court heard the girl was attacked after she visited a sweet shop in Fleetwood on 9 May.

Twenty-eight-year-old Mr Holmes denies rape. The trial, at Preston Crown Court, continues.
