A 24-year-old man has been charged with murdering his girlfriend in east Lancashire.
Paramedics found the body of Anna Banks, 23, at a flat in Hawley Street, Colne, just after midnight on Wednesday.
A post-mortem examination found she had died due to "pressure to the neck", a Lancashire Police spokesman said.
Daniel Lancaster, of Hawley Street, Colne, was due to appear before magistrates in Burnley on Thursday.
Ms Banks' sister Sharon paid tribute to her, on behalf of her family.
She said: "Anna was always smiling and she had a lust for life. She adored her daughter and her two nephews. She will be sadly missed by her devastated family and friends."
