Two charged as Blackpool baby left critically ill

Two people held after a three-month-old baby boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries have been charged.

Lancashire Police said the baby was taken to hospital with serious head injuries on Wednesday and remains in a critical condition.

A 19-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, both from Blackpool, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and neglect of a child.

Both have also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

A police spokesman said they were due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court on Saturday.
