Two people have been arrested after a fire which forced the evacuation of a block of holiday flats in Blackpool.

Firefighters were called to reports of the blaze in the ground floor property on Albert Road on Saturday night.

Crews broke into the flat and rescued three people, including one who was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

A joint investigation between fire and police investigators is being carried out into the cause of the blaze.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the bedsit, in the ground floor of the three-storey building, was badly damaged.

Crime scene investigators were at the scene on Sunday. Detectives are questioning the two people on suspicion of arson.
