Blackburn warehouse workers tied up by gang in raid

A gang of masked men tied up three workers at a warehouse in Lancashire, before fleeing with cigarettes.

The staff were loading cigarettes into a vehicle at the warehouse in Geddes Street, Blackburn at 0800 BST when a white Mercedes Sprinter van pulled up.

Six to eight men, in balaclavas and with Liverpool accents, tied up the men inside the warehouse, police said.

Det Insp Mark Winstanley has appealed to anyone with any information to contact Lancashire police.

He added: "I would also like to speak with anybody who was in the area around the time of the robbery who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously or anybody who may have seen a white Mercedes Sprinter van possibly being driven at speed or erratically.

"Thankfully the workers were physically unhurt, but they have been left incredibly shaken by what has happened."
