Boy, 16, charged after car crash in Burnley

A boy has been charged after a car crash in Lancashire in which a teenager was critically injured.

The 16-year-old, from Burnley, is charged with aggravated vehicle taking, two counts of burglary, theft, and driving without a licence.

He is also accused of failing to stop after an accident and using a vehicle without insurance, after the incident in Gannow Lane, Burnley, on Monday.

He is due to appear at Burnley Magistrates' Court later.

The 19-year-old man who was injured remains in a critical condition at the Royal Preston Hospital, police said.
