Burglar breaks into dead man's Blackpool home

A home in Blackpool was broken into just days after its owner died, police have revealed.

Edward Loughran, 63, died from poor health in his flat in Lane Ends Court on 19 November.

Police said the flat was found broken into on Wednesday, with a television stolen and money he had been saving for Christmas taken from his wallet.

There were also items of jewellery missing. They have asked anyone with information to contact them.

PC Kirsty Jones said: "Mr Loughran's daughter is understandably incredibly upset and distressed, not only about the death of her father, but also because of the circumstances surrounding this burglary."
