The family of a man who was killed as he walked home from a charity event in Lancashire have said he was a "fantastic father".

Paul Brindle was found with multiple injuries on Oldfield Carr Lane, Poulton, at about 01:00 BST on Friday. Police believe he was hit by a car.

The 35-year-old was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

A 29-year-old man from the Blackpool area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Two other men, also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, have been released without charge.

Mr Brindle's family said: "Paul was a much-loved son and brother but above all, he'd want to be remembered as fantastic father to his two children.

"We're not sure we will ever come to terms with losing him so cruelly."
