Man charged over attack in Morecambe

A 40-year-old man has been charged over an attack that left a man critically ill in hospital in Lancashire.

The 55-year-old victim fell when he was punched outside the Joiners Arms pub, Queen Street, Morecambe, early on Monday.

He was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but later transferred to the Royal Preston Hospital.

The 40-year-old man is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Lancaster later.
