Paul Ormerod dies after Morecambe pub attack

A 55-year-old man left critically ill in hospital after an unprovoked attack outside a pub in Lancashire has died.

Paul Ormerod, from Lancaster, was subjected to a serious assault early on 5 November outside the Joiners Arms, Queen Street, Morecambe.

Police said Christopher Kearns, 40, from Morecambe had subsequently been re-arrested and charged with murder after Mr Ormerod died.

He will appear before Lancaster Magistrates' Court on Friday.
