A man from Blackpool has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a father of two in a Lancashire flat.

Andrew Boardman, 53, was taken to hospital from a property in Glen Eldon Road, St Annes, on 30 June, but died the next day.

Jason Brookes, 23, of Elizabeth Court, pleaded guilty to the murder last month.

He was ordered to serve a minimum of 18 and a half years in jail by a judge at Preston Crown Court

Police attended the flat after they were called to reports of a man being assaulted.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Boardman, a baker, died of multiple injuries as a result of a "sustained attack".
