Preston burglars steal Italian paintings worth £30,000
Three Italian paintings valued at £30,000 have been stolen in a burglary in Preston.
The break-in happened in Emmanuel Street at about 22:00 GMT on Thursday.
Police described the small paintings as "original Italian works of art", depicting the crucifixion, the Virgin Mary, and a third painting of Jesus and Mary together.
It is believed the homeowner disturbed the burglars as she returned home from work.
Two sewing machines and a laptop were also stolen.
Det Con Warren Gibson, of Lancashire Police, said: "This has understandably been an upsetting experience for the victim and we are keen to trace and return the valuable paintings to her as soon as possible."
