Joseph McNamara: Man, 80, struck by cars in Lancaster dies

An 80-year-old man has died after being struck by two cars in North Lancashire.

Pedestrian Joseph McNamara from Heysham was on an unlit stretch of the A683 Caton Road, Crook O'Lune in Lancaster shortly before 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said a Honda Jazz and a Hyundai Tucson collided with him and he sustained serious injuries before being pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Supt Tracey Ward said it was "a tragic incident" and appealed for any witnesses to get in touch.
