The child was discovered at an address in the Kirkby Lonsdale area on Sunday afternoon, but police are still trying to trace his father Mark Varley.

Mr Varley, 31, left his home in Carnforth, Lancashire, with his son Brandon at about 02:20 GMT on Sunday.

He is 5ft 10in (1.77m) with brown hair and was last seen wearing jeans and a blue T-shirt.
