Skelmersdale raid victim, 91, had face rubbed in gravel - police

Would-be robbers attacked a 91-year-old man and rubbed his face through gravel outside his home, police have said.

A reward of up to £5,000 has been offered to catch the two men behind the attack in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

The pensioner was attacked from behind by the pair as he locked his garage door in the Evenwood area of the town.

One searched his pockets while the other rubbed his face in the gravel during the incident on 4 March, police said. The reward has just been offered.
