Leeds scooter crash victim identified

A man who died after his scooter collided with a car in Leeds has been identified by police.

Nicholas Jones was riding a Piaggio scooter which collided with a BMW X3 in Shadwell Lane, Moortown, at about 1545 BST on Sunday.

The 38-year-old, from the Chapel Allerton area, later died at Leeds General Infirmary.

Police have urged witnesses to the crash, which happened near the junction with Highthorne Drive, to contact them.
