Man in court over murder of 71-year-old in Pontefract


A man charged with murdering a pensioner in Pontefract has been remanded in custody.

Wayne Moffitt, 39, of Minden Way, Pontefract, appeared before the town's magistrates on Saturday in connection with the death of Geoffrey Bradburn.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Beastfair at about 2340 BST on 6 April following reports that Mr Bradburn, 71, had been assaulted.

Mr Moffitt was remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 12 April.
