Keighley mosque: Man in court charged with child assaults

A 59-year-old man has appeared in court charged with 10 offences of common assault on children at a mosque in West Yorkshire.

Sabir Hussain, of Spencer Street, Keighley, appeared before Bingley Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He was released on bail to appear before Bradford magistrates on 7 July.

The charges follow the release of secret footage filmed at the Markazi Jamia Mosque, which was shown on Channel 4's Dispatches programme.

The footage included children apparently being hit by a teacher.
