Knottingley brass band's stolen instruments recovered

Musical instruments and scores belonging to a West Yorkshire brass band which were stolen from a trailer have been recovered.

The instruments, belonging to the Knottingley Concert Brass band, were taken on Sunday from a trailer parked in Pontefract.

The instruments were found in woods in South Kirkby but the trailer is still missing, said West Yorkshire Police.

The loss of the equipment had put a number of performances at risk.

The white Ifor Williams trailer also contained music stands and all the band's current music programme of around 40 scores.
