Halifax woman charged over dead baby find in 2006
A 46-year-old woman from Halifax has appeared in court charged with the concealment of a birth six years ago.
Angela Owen was arrested in the Avon and Somerset Police area in the early hours of Friday after an appeal on the BBC Crimewatch programme.
The newborn boy's body was found in a bin bag in the grounds of Howroyd Hall, Barkisland, in July 2006.
Ms Owen was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court on 11 June.
A post-mortem examination at the time the body was found revealed the baby was born full-term and could have been at Howroyd Hall for up to a year before being found.
Police initially said there were no suspicious circumstances but since a review of the case earlier this year officers have treated the death as suspicious.
Ms Owen also faces two charges of of obtaining goods by deception, three charges of obtaining services by deception and a charge of conspiracy to defraud.
