Man seriously hurt in Leeds A64 bridge plunge

A man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries after plunging 30ft from a bridge in West Yorkshire.

He was found at the foot of the A64(M) New York Road flyover in Leeds, between North Street and New Briggate, at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.

One lane of the A64(M) eastbound was closed while investigations were carried out, said police.

The man broke his ankle and knee as well as suffering injuries to his face in the fall.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police.
