A 68-year-old man who was found killed in his home in West Yorkshire died of multiple injuries, police have revealed.

The body of Clement Desmier, known as Butch, was found at his house in Rowlestone Rise, Ravenscliffe, at 16:00 BST on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Friday evening, police said.

Det Supt Mark Ridley, from the homicide and major inquiry team, said house-to-house inquiries were being carried out.

Posters were being put up on the Ravenscliffe estate appealing for information about Mr Desmier's death, he added.

Police and the ambulance service went to Mr Desmier's home after a neighbour entered the house due to concerns for the safety of the 68-year-old. His body was found inside.

Local pubs

Witnesses reported seeing two men outside Mr Desmier's home at about 03:00 on Thursday and detectives are "particularly keen" to trace the men.

Previously, police said Mr Desmier was well known in Bradford and Shipley and would drink in local pubs and use local transport.

Officers are trying to build a picture of Mr Desmier's movements and lifestyle in the days before his death.

"I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who has seen or been in contact with Mr Desmier during the last week," said Det Supt Ridley.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
