Jobs lost at Normanton distribution firm
More than 100 people have been made redundant at an electrical goods distribution company in West Yorkshire.
The HI Group and eight subsidiary companies have gone into administration as a result of "challenging market conditions", it said.
The 35-year-old family-run company is based in Normanton, near Wakefield.
One arm of the firm, Hi-Way Express Home Delivery, has been sold, safeguarding 57 jobs, but 109 workers were made redundant on Wednesday.
Sam Woodward, joint administrator for Ernst & Young, said: "In recent years the group has suffered from challenging market conditions which has seriously impacted the group's white goods business.
"As a result turnover has declined resulting in severe cash flow difficulties."
