Man arrested over Thorpe death

Detectives investigating the death of a man in a Leeds village have made an arrest.

Sidney Cox, 57, died after being seriously injured at his home on Middleton Lane in Thorpe, on 24 August.

Michael Dear, 38, who was wanted by police in connection with the incident, was arrested on Monday night in the Pudsey area of Leeds.

Officers are still appealing for information to help trace Karl Gaskin, aged 40, in connection with the death.

Mr Gaskin is described as white, about 5ft 11ins (1.8m) tall, of medium build and with dark brown hair.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who sees [Mr Gaskin] should not approach him, and should contact the police immediately on 999."
