Man, 23, dies following stabbing in Loughborough

A 23-year-old man who went to a walk-in health centre in Leicestershire with a stab wound has died from his injuries.

The man was attacked in the Meadow Lane area of Loughborough between 0200 and 0300 BST.

Officers were alerted when the man went to the town's walk-in centre for treatment. He was treated by paramedics but later died.

Police have started a murder investigation and have arrested a man, 38, and a 45-year-old woman.

The pair remained in custody on Monday.

Meadow Lane is closed from the Hanford Way to Belton Road junctions and part of the canal towpath is shut.

Det Ch Insp Neil Castle, of Leicestershire Police, said: "The investigation is in its very early stages and officers are making a number of enquiries in the area."

He appealed for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
