Warning over thefts from cars in Leicester

A series of thefts from cars on driveways in Leicester has prompted a warning from police.

Three vehicles in Beaumont Leys were targeted overnight between 1 and 2 August.

Items including a wallet, satellite navigation system, stereo system and cash were taken.

Officers urged residents to keep their vehicles secure and make sure valuables are kept out of sight and said there would be extra police patrols.

The thefts happened on Milton Crescent, Lyn Close and Elder Close.
