Melton Mowbray hotel damaged in explosion reopens

A Leicestershire hotel which was damaged when a water tank exploded, has reopened.

The incident happened at the George on High Street, Melton Mowbray, on Saturday morning.

It damaged the rear of the building and scattered rubble into part of the beer garden. No-one was hurt.

The rest of the structure has been made safe and the hotel reopened on Monday evening, though the beer garden remains cordoned off.
