Thieves steal 400 pheasants from Leicestershire farms

Thieves have stolen 400 young pheasants from two farms in Leicestershire.

Police said 200 birds were taken from a farm in Oakham Road, Tilton on the Hill. Another 200 taken from Limes Farm, Houghton Lane in Gaulby.

The birds are worth about £1,300 in total and will need to be looked after until they can fend for themselves.

Pc Chris Hill said: "We would like to speak to anyone who has been offered a large number of pheasants, or who knows where they may have been kept."
