A woman who was found dead at a Leicester house has been identified by police.

A post-mortem examination found she died from a stab wound. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A man was also found seriously injured at the address and is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

'Vital information'

Police were called to the address shortly after 0300 BST on Thursday after reports of a disturbance.

Det Ch Insp Matt Hewson has appealed for anyone who saw Ms Hunt before her death on Wednesday evening or the early hours of Thursday to come forward.

It is thought she was in the Narborough Road area on Wednesday evening.

Det Ch Insp Hewson said: "Amanda had long blonde hair and on the night in question it is believed she was wearing jeans, dark boots, a grey jumper and a dark coat, possibly of a McKenzie make.

"If you recognise Amanda and believe you saw her that evening, then please get in touch with us as you may hold vital information which could assist with our inquiries into her death."
