Crews tackle 12-hour barn blaze in Leicestershire

Firefighters in Leicestershire have spent almost 12 hours trying to put out a fire at a barn.

Crews were called to the fire at Croft Road, Cosby, at about 2030 BST on Monday.

Water was taken from the River Soar to help tackle the fire in the barn, which contained about 1,000 tonnes of straw.

Officers had concerns about asbestos, but it was made safe. Crews also had to move about 500 tyres.

No-one was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
