Investigations are continuing after a fire broke out at a pub in Melton Mowbray town centre in Leicestershire.

Crews arrived at the Kettleby Cross, on Wilton Road, at about 2200 BST on Wednesday to find the first floor and roof on fire.

Firefighters had to pump water from the nearby River Eyre to put out the flames. Damage to the building was described as "extensive".

No one was injured but the cause of the fire is still unknown.

It took about 60 firefighters until 0730 BST on Thursday to extinguish the flames.
