Police arrest 100 drink-drivers in Leicestershire

More than 100 people have been arrested for drink-driving in Leicestershire over the holiday period.

Twenty-eight people were arrested between Christmas Eve and 29 December, taking the total to 109 since the beginning of December.

Drivers who tested positive stand to lose their licence and pay a fine of up to £5,000 if convicted.

Across the UK, 380 people died in road accident involving drink drivers in 2010.
