An Australian man visiting relatives in the UK has died after his car struck two parked vehicles in Leicestershire.

It happened at about 1645 GMT on Friday on Alan Moss Road near the Carrington Street junction in Loughborough.

Brian Wragg, 51, of Western Australia, was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead. His female passenger was unhurt.

He was driving a blue Hyundai i30. The parked cars, a blue/green Rover 75 and a silver Ford Focus, were unoccupied.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Det Con David Sharpe, of Leicestershire Police, said: "The Hyundai was travelling west from the direction of the A6.

"We would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Hyundai before the collision to please get in touch."
