Fire crews tackle flat blaze in Leicestershire
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have rescued a man who became trapped in a fire at a flat in Leicestershire.
Crews were called to the property on High Street, Earl Shilton, at about 0110 GMT on Tuesday.
The man was brought from the first-floor flat while nearby residents were moved to safety.
A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said it was thought the fire had started in a stairwell.
The man was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
