Leicestershire self-service machines save county cash

Self-service machines in Leicestershire libraries have saved the county council more than £300,000, the authority said.

The kiosks were installed in 16 libraries across the county a year ago, to help make service quicker and easier for library users.

The council said that the machines have enabled staff to help customers and reduce queuing time.

Leicestershire County Council has saved about £330,000 in staff costs through natural wastage and some redeployment.
