Pedestrian dies in A46 van crash in Leicester

A pedestrian has been killed when they were hit by a van on a dual carriageway in Leicester.

The crash happened on the A46 southbound, opposite Ratcliffe College, at about 01:30 GMT.

It is understood the pedestrian died at the scene.

The road, between the A6006 and A607 at Syston, was closed for several hours after the crash but has since reopened. Police have been unable to confirm any further details about the pedestrian.
