Pedestrian killed in Leicestershire A46 crash named

A pedestrian who died following a collision on a Leicestershire dual carriageway has been named.

Frederick William Kavanagh was killed in the accident which involved a Ford Transit and a BMW on the A46 southbound on 8 January.

Mr Kavanagh, 39 and from Sileby, died at the scene, Leicestershire Police said.

No-one else was injured in the crash at Ratcliffe on the Wreake. Leicestershire Police have appealed for information.

Anyone who saw Mr Kavanagh walking down Ratcliffe Road or the A46 prior to the accident is asked to contact officers.
