Wigston knife robbers take bookmaker cash

Two men with a knife threatened staff at a Leicestershire bookmakers during a robbery.

The offenders went into Ladbrokes on Leicester Road, Wigston, armed with the knife and a "two-foot long implement".

They left shortly afterwards with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no reports of any injuries

Leicestershire Police has appealed for any witnesses to the raid, which happened on Wednesday evening, to come forward.

One suspect was described as about 6ft (1.83m) tall, the other was between 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in (1.68m to 1.70m), with both wearing dark clothing and full face balaclavas.

Det Sgt David Parry said: "We are appealing for witnesses who were in the area of Leicester Road around 8pm and may have seen anything suspicious or two men running along the road dressed all in black to contact us."
