Leicester man remanded on child sex abuse charges

A 56-year-old Leicester man has been remanded after being charged with 15 offences relating to child sex abuse.

Guy Kendall, from the Beaumont Leys area, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on nine counts of sexual abuse of a child and six of possessing indecent images of children.

A search warrant was issued last week and he was arrested on Thursday during a national operation.

Mr Kendall is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 2 July.

Leicestershire's Paedophile Online Investigation Team made the arrest as part of Operation Tharsley, a UK crackdown organised by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
