Arrest over sandwich shop sex assault in Leicester

A man has been arrested following a sexual assault on a woman in a Leicester sandwich shop.

A man entered the Subway restaurant on Charles Street at 06:05 BST on 17 August and asked to use the toilet.

After being told the shop was not yet open, he used the toilet anyway and then sexually assaulted the staff member in a store room.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.

Leicestershire Police said the woman was subjected to a terrifying and distressing assault and have appealed for more information.
