A disused pub in Leicester is to be knocked down to make way for a hospital car park.

The Victory, on Aylestone Road, is owned by Leicester Royal Infirmary which plans to demolish it in the next few weeks.

Hospital bosses admitted a shortage of parking spaces was a problem for patients and visitors and said they were looking into long-term solutions.

It is hoped the new spaces will be ready by March.
