A man has been charged with the murder of a 58-year-old man who was found dead at a house in Leicester.

Christopher Penman was discovered at a property in Somerfield Walk, in Beaumont Leys, on Saturday afternoon.

A 25-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder the same day is due to appear before magistrates in the city on Thursday.

In a statement, Mr Penman's two children said: "Our dad didn't deserve to die, he was a good man."

Mr Penman was deaf, and police recorded an appeal with sign language and subtitles aimed at members of the deaf community.

The result of a post-mortem examination has not been released.
