Parks Primary School reopens after water pipe theft

A Leicester primary school forced to close after thieves stole about 131ft (40m) of copper water pipes from inside its roof has reopened.

Parks Primary School, on New Parks Crescent, shut because of some flooding in the building after the discovery was made on Monday morning.

Head teacher Caroline Evans said plumbers had fixed the system and believes the thieves could be caught.

Leicestershire Police are investigating and studying CCTV footage.
