Seven men have been arrested following a stand-off with police during a disturbance at a Lincolnshire flat.

Officers were called to Chapel Passage in Boston early on Tuesday when residents living nearby reported that items were being thrown from a window.

Those inside were apparently under the influence of alcohol and refused to come out of the flat, said police.

They eventually left about three hours later and were taken for questioning on suspicion of affray.

During the confrontation, the road was closed and specially-trained officers, including a dog handler, were called to help resolve the situation.

One local resident said that men inside the flat were "throwing out everything they could get their hands on", including paint cans, toilet rolls, CDs, DVDs, wallpaper and plants.
