Event to tackle Boston riverside disorder

Police and other agencies are hosting an event at a riverside disorder hotspot in east Lincolnshire.

Vandalism and trespassing have been reported at the Sluice Bridge and Anton's Gowt areas of the River Witham.

A response group, including British Transport Police, British Waterways and Boston Borough Council, has been formed to tackle the problems.

Residents are being invited to discuss the issues at a public event under the Sluice Bridge on Saturday and Sunday.

It has been organised by Pc Fran Harrod, who said: "This will be an excellent opportunity for local people and visiting boat owners to access all the relevant agencies in one place and to talk about how we move forward from here.

"We are all committed to tackling the anti-social behaviour issues that have blighted these locations in recent months and are keen to listen to the views and opinions of those who have been affected."
