Armed police in Lincoln have been called out after a woman said she had received a text message which contained a threat to shoot her.
Officers went to Beaufort Road in Glebe Park on Tuesday morning in response to a 999 call from the 22-year-old.
A few hours later a 50-year-old man was arrested in the Hemswell area in connection with the incident.
Police said a woman had reported receiving a "malicious communication making threats involving firearms".
The man is helping police with their inquires.
