Junction work in Lincoln prompts congestion warning

Motorists are being warned of weeks of disruption as major works start on a busy Lincoln road.

Three junctions on Tritton Road are being remodelled ahead of the expansion of a nearby Sainsbury's supermarket.

The Skellingthorpe Road and Doddington Road junctions, as well as the supermarket entrance, will be subject to a series of closures and diversions.

Work begins on Monday and is expected to run until mid-November with drivers urged to leave more time for journeys.

Officials said the project would result in improved traffic flow and better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.

Most of the cost of the £700,000 scheme is being met by Sainsbury's.
