Men bailed after group attack on man in Louth

Three men have been released on police bail in connection with an attack on another man in a Lincolnshire town.

Carl Frith, 34, was assaulted just before 0100 BST in Lee Street, Louth, and remains critically ill in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.

He was punched in the face and head and then assaulted again as he lay on the ground, police said.

Four other men have been released without charge.

The men released on bail, aged 24 and 29, were both from Louth.

Detectives believe the victim and a friend got into an argument just before the attack.
