Man killed in two-car crash in Leicestershire named

A man in his 80s who suffered fatal injuries in a road collision in Lincolnshire has been named by police.

Ernest Norton, 84, from Wellingore, was driving a Peugeot which was involved in a crash with a van on the A607 at Leadenham on Monday.

He was airlifted to Lincoln County Hospital but later died.

Mr Norton's family have thanked Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service and the air ambulance for their efforts to try to save him.

His front-seat passenger had to be cut free and is still being treated in hospital.
